Caped Crusader’s latest outing proves to be non-PC game rental service’s most popular cross-platform title last year.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 may have been the biggest game of 2011 in terms of sales, but it was not the most requested title at game rental company GameFly. Instead, that mark goes to Rocksteady’s well-received Batman: Arkham City.

Bats trump bullets, at least for GameFly users.

Directly following Arkham City on GameFly’s 2011 most requested cross-platform titles list are Activision’s latest shooter Modern Warfare 3 and Deep Silver’s zombie game Dead Island.

Platform-specific top-requested titles included Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (PS3), Batman: Arkham City (Xbox 360), Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii), Super Mario 3D Land (3DS), and New Super Mario Bros. (DS).

Of note, there were only two new intellectual properties to break GameFly’s top 10 lists: Dead Island and Rage. GameFly’s 2011 most requested lists are below.
