Xbox 360 getting Comcast, Verizon TV – Report
Microsoft to offer cable services through Xbox Live; HBO, SyFy, Bravo among two-dozen content providers in talks to appear on console “as soon as next week.”
The Xbox 360 already plays host to services like Netflix and Hulu, but Microsoft is reportedly looking to ramp up the content offerings on its Xbox Live service in a big way. Bloomberg is reporting that Microsoft is in talks with nearly two media providers to stream their music, sports, TV programs, and movies on Xbox Live “as soon as next week.”
Two of the biggest names Microsoft has plans for are Comcast and Verizon, both of which will reportedly have their pay television services–Xfinity and Verizon FiOS, respectively–added to Xbox Live. However, users would need to be existing customers of the standard version of those services in order to add the Xbox 360 capability.
Bloomberg names a number of Microsoft’s potential partners, including HBO, Bravo, SyFy Channel, Sony Pictures’ Crackle streaming service, and Amazon’s Lovefilm UK. Representatives with the various companies did not provide comment to Bloomberg. A Microsoft representative told GameSpot the company does not comment on rumors or speculation.

Rambo reloading on consoles, PC – Report
Reef Entertainment inks deal with film company StudioCanal to produce “triple-A” games for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC based on Sylvester Stallone series.
Fictional action hero John Rambo hasn’t had his own video game since 1989′s Rambo III, but no man, no law, and no war can stop the gun-toter from fighting back onto the scene.
According to MCV, Reef Entertainment has inked a deal with film company StudioCanal to develop a new Rambo game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
The website is reporting that Reef outbid other offers to secure the rights to make multiple games based on the Sylvester Stallone-led movies.
Concrete details about the first new Rambo game are not available. However, Reef creative director Craig Lewis told the website that the new title will be of “triple-A” quality and will “capture the gritty atmosphere and full-on action which made the Rambo movies so successful.”

Kinect Fruit Ninja, Disneyland Adventures confirmed – Report
E3 2011: USA Today reports Microsoft is readying an Xbox Live version of Halfbrick’s popular iPhone and iPad game; rumored theme-park-centric title also outed.
In just a few hours, Microsoft’s press briefing will kick off the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo. But, as is often the case with E3 press conferences, several details about the event have already leaked, courtesy of a report in USA Today.
According to the national daily, Microsoft will use part of its media event to unveil a version of Fruit Ninja for Kinect. Already a huge hit on the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, the game from developer Halfbrick has players slice and dice fruit thrown at them via their devices’ touchpads. Presumably, these motions would be replicated in the air with the Xbox 360′s full-body motion-sensing system.
USA Today also confirmed speculation that surfaced earlier in the day that Microsoft was readying a partnership with the Walt Dinsey Co. for at least one Kinect game. The article confirmed the previously rumored title Kinect Disneyland Adventures, which lets players “visit a virtual Disneyland.” No other details were given.
For more announcements straight from Microsoft’s press conference, check back at 9:30 a.m. for GameSpot’s livestream and liveblog of the event.
